Artist Statement I've always been drawn to art and color. My journey with painting began with watercolor; and eventually I migrated to oils. Most of my paintings now are in oil. My art education has been self-directed, and I've studied under several professional artists including Joni Falk, Hedi Moran, Robert Lemler, Linda Gooch and Susan Diehl. Juried Memberships: Oil Painters of America, California Art Club, Contemporary Fine Art International. I grew up in Burbank, California, but I've lived in Mesa, Arizona for the past 21 years.

I paint what interests me -- mostly florals, landscapes and street scenes. I'm attracted by strong light and contrast. Although I have an endless supply of interesting subjects to paint here in the desert southwest, I also visit my home state of California often, to capture the beautiful scenery there as well. For the past year, I've been visiting the California missions to gather painting material because they are such an important part of our history in the western US; and more importantly, the architecture is so beautiful. I have visited six of the missions so far, and I hope to visit the rest within the next two years. If you've never visited a California mission, at least visit San Juan Capistrano. The mission, as well as that area of California, will make a trip you'll long remember.
