Artist Statement Ever since I was a child I wanted to make art, first with crayons and then sketching
and drawing. In 1997 I joined the Air Force and was stationed in Texas and
Germany. From Germany I traveled to France and toured the Louvre, admiring and
inspired by the art by the masters. I was discharged from the Air Force in 2001 and
decided then to focus on making art.
I began studying acrylic painting techniques with Sara L. Hanlon in her group art
courses a few years ago. I was invited to work with Sara in her studio, as one of her
advanced students and improve my grasp of the fundamentals and advanced
painting techniques. This has improved my ability to express my ideas into well
done paintings that are continually evolving. My latest works are very surreal. This
is a direction that has greater personal depth and meaning for me.
I love to write, expressing similar surreal concepts in prose and poetry. I recently
collaborated on a song. using my poetry as lyrics with a friend Mary Courage from Sweden.
you can find a that song at the bottom of the page
