Artist Statement REGARDING The "WENDERINGS:"
I seem to have come full circle with my art, just drawing for myself again. No assignments, no one to please, no one looking over my shoulder, except maybe my dog. I call them, “Wenderings,” for the wandering way they flow from the pen, almost like they’re drawing themselves.


BIO
Former Seattle P-I newspaper artist, Wendy Wahman now writes & illustrates children’s books. Her debut picture book, ”Don’t Lick the Dog,” was selected as a 2010 Bank Street Best Children’s Book of the Year, starred for Outstanding Merit & accepted to the Society of Illustrators Original Art show. Other books include "A Cat Like That," "Pony in the City," Nanny Paws," "Old Pearl,” and more. She received a Tacoma Arts Grant (TAIP) and the SCBWI Martha Weston Grant for "Progress," an illustrated memoir of her year in the 7th grade.
