Description Reproduction of a vintage color illustration of the double-walker, an amphisbaenid (Amphisbaena fulginosa) from Cuvier's The Animal Kingdom (1837 edition). Technically, Cuvier put the wrong name on the animal depicted; it should be Amphisbaena alba, which had been described by Linnaeus. But it is still a nice print of an amphisbaenid.
