Artist Statement For me is incredible to think that the click of a camera freezes a moment that lasted a thousandth of a second. Thousands of moments in a second. Thousands of various moments, thousands of photographs, all in a second. If I think about the thousands of photographs that I have taken in my life I realize that, in total, I've only frozen a few minutes.

How hard it is to choose a moment from between thousands? When we hear that click, a very small part of time stops. The opening of the shutter records the light on the film in a snippet of time that is difficult to define. That suspended melancholic moment between not yet being and not being anymore. It does not record a present that lives in the hope of becoming. Time is therefore the photographer's problem.

Of those who try to stop it, to represent it, to perhaps possess it, it is just this desire that the photography tries to satisfy. To possess time; to stop it, to reveal it, to predict it, to manipulate it. But perhaps time does not exist. How can a present exist that is caught between a past that is not there anymore and a future that not is there yet? Which present are we talking about anyway? As soon as you mention it, it's already gone. Perhaps this is the secret - Time does not exist.
