Description THE LAZY DAYS OF SPRING by Lynn Bauer - A group of California's 'happy cows' roam the hillsides along Shell Creek Road in San Luis Obispo County, California. For years the dairy industry has been making commercials about how happy our cows are here in CA, and a spring like this one is the reason why! Numerous rain storms from a long-awaited El Nino have brought plenty of rain to central and northern parts of California. These cows are enjoying the bright green grasses and pretty wildflowers produced by those rains. These cows are in no hurry...they are enjoying every minute of their time here! Rain clouds were moving in and out, creating pretty light patterns over these hills. Small pops of purple color on the hill are created by bush lupine, and the yellow flowers at the bottom of the image are tiny little goldfield wildflowers. A pretty oak tree stands at the center, as cows work their way around it. Yes...this year, California cows are very happy!
