Description 'Purple Sailboat' is a wall art print done using a watercolor technique of a sailboat. The technique focuses on soft colors and abstract drawing to create this print. The white sails rise high above the purple boat. Suggestive drawing and touches of soft greens, purples and oranges, represent the shoreline. The setting is Lake Union in Seattle, Washington. On a warm summer day you can find sailboats and speedboats leaving their docks for a day on the water. Located just north of the downtown area, it is in the heart of urban life for Seattle residence. There are lots of docks along the shoreline that provide permanent residence for many of the boats that call this lake home. Lake Union is part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal that joins Lake Washington to the east to the open waters of the Puget Sound. When considering an art print, the interior design of the room comes into play and the look you are going for with any given print comes into the decision process. This particular style of art print works in almost any type of interior design. The soft colors create either a contemporary abstract or traditional watercolor look, depending on the way it is framed and matted. This type of art technique creates flexibility in choice.More Artist Information: Additional prints available on Kirt's Gallery - www.TheWallGallery.comFollow my work:Blog: http://thewallgalleryblog.wordpress.com/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/b/113998712261783920634/+Thewallgallery/postsTwitter: https://twitter.com/KirtWallGalleryFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/TheWallGallery.KirtTisdaleCopyright 2014 Kirt Tisdale / TheWallGallery.com
Kirt Tisdale, Sherman Oaks Member Since February 2013 Artist Statement I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
