Description This looks uptown across West 23rd Street, east of 6th Avenue, glimpsing an old friend.Of the nearer classic buildings, the arched entrance takes you to the Masonic Lodge; The short brick building houses the Limerick House; The orange-primed building, transforming to white, is now a jeans store with karate above. I took this historic shot in 1984 from the vacant lot on the south side of West 23rd, now occupied by the Caroline Apartment building which filled the spot by 2002. In earlier years, the lot accommodated a McCreery Department Store and the original Booth Theatre of the Civil War era.
I have always taken photographs. In 1972 I moved to Manhattan following careers as actor, singer, songwriter, taxi driver, waiter, projectionist, headshot photographer, wedding photographer, graphic artist and software engineer. In 2008 I moved to Penn Yan and opened La Belle Vie Bed & Breakfast. And I've always taken photographs.
