Artist Statement Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith. My mother was a traveling woman, but born of a childhood that was too deeply rooted in one place for most of her life. When she married my dad, an army soldier, the world cracked wide open for her, and she let me ride shotgun on the journey of her life. My first memories are of pre-dawn road trips and midnight flights, and I recall finding heaven residing between the folds of accordian-shaped maps, all those roads laid out like primary-colored possibilities. She taught me how to live like a local in every town and to look at strangers like friends you just haven't met yet.

Now as a traveling freelance writer and photographer, I'm living the sweet dream that has always coursed through my gypsy blood. I'm never happier than when I have a full tank of gas and my camera equipment in the seat beside me, heading out for a new adventure. I recently bought a piece of my own earth to come home to in Woodstock, Georgia, where I live with my husband, son, and a true-blue hound dog. I live my days hungry for the moment that I can hit the road and capture the world's magic through my lens, and I hope to meet you somewhere along the way.

I believe in the power of place, of story, and in the resilience of the human spirit. Each one of my images holds its own story, and I would love to tell you about it.
