Artist Statement I have loved Art since I was a young child. I also fell in love with Fantasy and Science Fiction novels while still in Elementary School. King Arthur, Merlin, Castles, Knights, and Dragons were my first love. Then I discovered Narnia and of course Middle Earth. I couldn’t estimate how many books of that genre I have read over the years, but somehow they have all become recycled into my Artwork. I have also been an avid student of World Religions, in particular the Celtic myths and legends.
As for specific influences on my Style, I have always been enamored with the early Renaissance Masters. There was a brief period at the beginning of the Renaissance wherein Art retained the Primitive aspects of the Middle Ages while beginning to explore the new concepts of Perspective, Vanishing Point, and Shadows. This is the feel I try to emulate in my Work. Let me say I am humbled by these early Pioneers and what they were able to accomplish employing only basic mathematical principles, compass and square. Using a computer and getting results with a few clicks of the mouse feels like cheating.
Art like Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I hope you enjoy my work, and I would be very honored to have you display it on your wall.
