Description This is a digitally altered image from an original painting I did a few years back. The original is an acrylic/mixed media on a 24'x36'x1' boxed wood frame. This painting was a commisioned piece for an African/Cherokee lady living in Georgia, north of Atlanta. Upon seeing it for the first time she brought a picture of her father and his eyes and facial structure match the painting. Her daughter came for a visit and right away said it was her grandfather without her mother telling her anything about the likeness.
Kevin Chasing Wolf Hutchins, Atoka, TN Member Since August 2008 Artist Statement Kevin began a spiritual quest in Memphis, Tennessee about twenty years ago. With guidance from the spirit world he moved out west to Arizona spending much of his time adventuring in the red rock mountains of Sedona and the surrounding area. After the first year of being there Kevin met and began an ongoing student teacher relationship with a Native American teacher that was doing traditional sweat lodges in a town just south of Sedona.
As an artist Kevin felt inspired to share his journey through painting and storytelling. His work is inspired by personal dreams, visions and his study of Native American teachings.
