Artist Statement I feel like I have been drawing, painting and creating all of my life. Received a BFA in Design Graphics from NYIT and then discovered the world of Fashion Design and went to FIT in NYC where I received an Associates Degree in Fashion Design. After working in the Fashion Industry for 16 years as a designer and illustrator I decided a change of course was needed. Not sure what to do next I figured why not education? So back to school I went to pursue my career as an art teacher. I received my Masters in education and special education and have been teaching art in NYC for 13 years.
It is here that I have found my true calling. Working with young people and opening up their eyes and their hearts to art has been my greatest joy. It has also afforded me the opportunity of dedicating my summers off to creating my own art as well as traveling which has definitely fueled the creative engine.
I hope you enjoy viewing my work and I look forward to exchanging ideas and art insight with my fellow artists.
