Artist Statement I am Lore Colore, born on 3rd of April 1942, in Stuttgart, Germany. I grew up in a large family - grandparents, parents and two siblings.

Because my grandmother, after the death of her mother, took care of her stepfather who was kind of a herb man, she inherited a piece of land on which a small wooden house was built. It was laying out of town, did not belong to the community and therefore had no right to development. There was neither electricity nor running water, and we bathed only when it was raining.

I was a wild child and knew all the trees within a radius of 2 km. I knew which were best for climbing, and which contributed the best apples. But I also could sit quiet, namely diagonally behind my grandfather to watch him paint. That has certainly helped that my pictures in school always has been suspended. I also had a very strong sense of justice. Behind me in school sat Helmut. I liked his paintings quite well. Unfortunately he never got a mark better than below average. However, I got even for lousy painted works made in a shortage of time at least a "good". And because i found this unfair I swapped our pictures. So he, for the first time got a "good", and I a "below average". After i told the teacher, he got a red face, but the mark remained.

When I just turned 17, my grandfather died. Shortly before he is still bought quite a lot of new colors - for the narrow purse of my grandparents a small fortune. Grandma said that I was a worthy heir of Grandpa`s painting implements.

My first picture was a --- belling deer! The second was roses in a vase for my friend Olga on her 18 birthday. The third, a small bouquet of flowers, is shown in my album. Then a landscape followed. My 4-year-old niece wanted to complete the work... Somehow I have lost the interest from then.

I went for a year to London, was quite professionally fixed, married with 29 and got two children. When you have small children painting is not the ideal hobby. More than tinker a bit and rustic painting, which was then in fashion, was not there, and after the early death of my husband I also had very little time.

After i got some more time, I went into metaphysics, got trained in autogenic training and gave appropriate courses in a vacant children's room. Further i studied numerology and reading the cards. These became my second footholds because i was fascinated by it. Then came the disease. Rheumatism. And from today to tomorrow, I could hardly move. I was retired and also had to give up the courses.
Then i remembered the colors. Yes, and now I paint for about 2 years. My son directed me this gallery and my homepage for my images - and here I am.
