Artist Statement I first became interested in photography while backpacking and traveling during college. But it wasn't until my wife and I moved to Chile that I truly realized my passion of documenting the natural world. After being confronted by the immense landscapes of Patagonia and the desolation of the Atacama Desert, I knew how I wanted to spend my free time.

Now living in the Pacific Northwest, I approach landscapes with similar intent. Lugging the camera gear deep into forests, across snowfields and along crashing Pacific shorelines, I try to capture those fleeting moments of discovery that happen in the wild.
