Artist Statement I've loved taking photographs ever since I can remember. Growing up in Devon there were just so many beautiful sites (and sights!) to capture.
However, despite wanting to immortalize beauty, I'm pretty sure it's my narcissistic side that urges me to take photographs. Creating a reflection of outside life, I can find myself in every photo I take. I definitely think I take pictures, not only to capture what I find wonderful but to find a personal sense of value and worth in the things that I do.
To this day - and perhaps more now than ever - I strive for that magical, but often surprising, winning shot. However, If I feel that I have managed to convey the significance of my subject (whether it's beauty, horror, irony) and why I have chosen to photograph it, then I can feel satisfied.
