Artist Statement Justine Serebrin was born in Manhattan Beach, California and now lives in Long Beach. She studied at Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles, where she received her BFA in 2007. She has participated in many exhibitions in Los Angeles, as well as in numerous shows at the galleries of Otis College of Art and Design. Serebrin also directed and curated four exhibitions at the Long Beach gallery, Viento y Agua in 2007.

I am interested in the way this world may have been created - how
creatures, systems, plants or animals evolved and what may happen to them if forced to evolve backwards. My work explores the nexus between reality and fantasy, past and future. Each work visually translates the internal structure or system within a living entity, showing the process of its evolution and possibility of its reverse experience.
