Artist Statement Judy Olson is a native of Torrington, Connecticut. In 1979, she moved to the Adirondacks, and in 1992 graduated from Fulton-Montgomery Community College with a degree in Visual Communications.

From 1992 to 2003, she worked as a color evaluator for Quad/Graphics in Saratoga Springs. In the Imaging department, Judy did scanning, color correcting, and retouching for numerous publications, among them, National Geographic, Travel & Leisure, and Yankee magazines, as well a catalogs for Orvis and Talbots. After more than 10 years in the business, she decided to make photography a full time pursuit.

Her work has been exhibited at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, the Adirondack Artists Guild Gallery, the Old Forge Arts Center, the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts, the Romaine Brooks Gallery and others. Several of her works have won awards.

She is a member of the Sacandaga Valley Arts Network, the Saratoga County Arts Council, the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council and the Cooperstown Art Association.

She lives in Hope Falls, New York with her husband Eric, and has 3 children: Dan and Dave Chapin and Amanda Pitcher.
