Artist Statement Harm Plat was born in the spring of 1979 in the small town of Rolde, in the north of the Netherlands.
His artistic abilities became apparent at a young age, and developed throughout highschool.
Animals and nature always inspired him to no end: be it dinosaurs, sharks, lions and tigers or creatures
and sights in his own backyard, he could easily get lost in utopian dreams about the beauty in the world.

Not knowing what to do with his life after highschool, he decided to pursue a scientific career in Biology.
Driven by his thirst for knowledge, combined with a fascination for the natural world, it was a very rewarding
time at the University of Groningen. In between he travelled most of Europe and spent a full year backpacking
in Australia. An amazing year, about which a book could be written. Life sometimes is like a dream.

But all these years, the love for drawing and meanwhile, painting, kept calling him to return.
Drawing crept back into his life little by little and then, in the beginning of 2012, he answered the call.
He quit his job and dove headfirst into the future to pursue a career as an artist.
A thrilling ride ahead of him, adventure awaits once again!
