Artist Statement Bane Hurst works out of his home studio in Winston-Salem, NC. He also chairs the Art Department at an award-winning art magnet school. Besides painting he enjoys smashing golf balls, reading (Robert E. Howard, Kurt Vonnegut, Tolkien and Jack London among others), and raising two kids with his wife.

Bane received a B.F.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002. In addition to the private sale of artwork, he was recognized for his entry in the Arts-for-the Parks national landscape competition and had a top 10 yearbook cover designs in the Southeast region.

He is also featured as a guest instructor at TheVirtualInstructor.com, Google’s #1 ranked website for free art lessons.
