Ramon Dominguez, Isla Mujeres Member Since February 2010 Artist Statement Ramón Domínguez Neri Born in México City in 1974, I had my first introduction to marine life through a children´s book. The memories of that book and my first glimpse of the sea steered the direction of my life.
At the age of twelve a documentary film from the Mexican explorer Ramón Bravo, awoke in me a passion for sharks and marine life.
I have been working full time as a dive master and instructor since 1995.
As a self-taught photographer I am always willing to improve my photographic skills to express what I want with ease. I have found in underwater photography the perfect way to capture the beauty and drama of the underwater world to remind us how much we need the oceans and how much the oceans need us to change the way we interact with them.
So, who am I? Let's just say that: I do not only photograph what I see, but I photograph who I am.
