Artist Statement “CARRIE”
I was born in London and have been interested in art since a young age. I paint from photos in acrylic and am developing a very realistic resemblance to the photos. Whilst painting I am completely lost in another world. Each painting is a happy adventure often reliving a journey in a foreign country.
I am English by birth but have lived in Saint Tropez in the South of France for many years and am passionate about the town and its traditions. I have been greatly inspired to paint many views of the town, especially the legendary statue of Saint Tropez – a symbol very close to every Tropezien heart.
During a brief spell in England I learnt to do stained glass and have produced four works. Of the later two, one is a round version of the St Tropez coat of arms which is a window, and the second one is a rectangular version of another St Tropez coat of arms, which could be used as an insert in an internal door.
