Artist Statement I have been creating art for as long as my memory allows, but after high school my motivation changed. I had began college a fine arts major, but soon changed to business. My art was put on the "back burner" for most of my twenties mainly due to the attempt for success in the corporate world. What a huge mistake that was. In one small space in time, my father lost his executive job and I was forced to fire one of my employee's for no real particular reason (my boss told me that either to fire him or we were both gone). This proved to me how disposable upper management thinks of their staff. I relayed the bad news to my employee and then walked right out the door never to return. The next couple of months I spent out of societies eye camping and raft guiding the Ocoee River in east Tenessee. Soon I moved to Montana where I spent a few years simply enjoying life and taking in nature.

I am now back in the south living in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains: Asheville, NC. This place is a haven for artist's and outdoor enthusiast's. How could I not be inspired?

30 years old and going back to school for Multimedia Arts and Sciences. Any spare time I have is spent painting and photographing. If your passionate about something, go for it. It's never too late.
