Carrina Hanson, Fair Oaks, Ca Member Since December 2008 Artist Statement I grew up in Sacramento California. Since I was a girl I always felt the strong urge to be creative. I started drawing when I was 5. I knew even then that art was where my heart belonged. From painting with acrylics to using pastels, when I had a free moment of time, I was making something.
It was not till I was an adult that I discovered my natural ability to use the computer as a media, and my love of digital photography, and transforming my pictures into artwork.
I started reading books about photography, and then later was lucky enough to be taught by Kurt Fishback, whose father developed the Fishback exposure system, and was of the few who had the honor of photographing the great Ansel Adams. He taught me so much more then I ever thought I could and truly believed I had a gift. I thank him so much for the honor of being his student.
I was privileged enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in the State of California, San Luis Obispo County. There is so much here to capture, and I often had my breath taken away by it's beauty. I now live at the foot of the rugged beauty of California's Sierra Nevada mountains. Here I hope to find a new kind of beauty to share.
Thank you for reading more about me. I hope you enjoy observing my images as much as I enjoyed creating them.
