Description Near Seabrook & Kiawah is a cool market--Rosebank Farms. Great food, neat art, soups, and seafood. There's a bunch of animals there, too, which distract the kids while I enter a nirvana of great things to photograph and food! In September there were a huge selection of GIANT urn-shaped planters. They were nearly four feet tall! I wanted to put one of the kids inside one and take a picture (and drive away) but they were all upside down to keep the rain out. Darn. Still managed to get a good shot!
Victoria Rentel, Columbus Member Since July 2007 Artist Statement About my pictures
I have a day job which has little to do with pictures.
My other day (and night) job is mother for two smart, temperamental, willful, delightful, small children.
I’m also a snapshot machine. I got my first camera 36 years ago, and I’ve been clicking since.
Late at night (I'm an unapologetic insomniac) I lavish my photos with attention. I turn off the lights and finally, quietly look for things I couldn’t see during the cacophony of my day. In the wee hours, when I hope most of you are asleep, my snapshots are lovingly teased into photographs.
I appreciate that you spent some of your valuable time on my photographs.
