Description Location: Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky. Looking north along the east side of Market Street toward the Ohio River, 'Cox's Row' is a series of Queen Anne rowhouses built at the same time as the large building on the far corner, at the intersection of Third Street. Known as the 'Cox Building,' it is a five-story, brick Romanesque Revival building designed by Cincinnati architect W.R. Brown of Crapsey & Brown, and constructed in 1886-87. The entire block is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the background, the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge spans the Ohio River. (1984 by Sandra Columbia)

Artist Statement Sandra P. Columbia Moss (1936-2012) is a Maysville, Kentucky based artist, specializing in pen-and-ink renderings of historical buildings and landmarks in the "Buffalo Trace" area, which includes Mason, Fleming, Bracken, Robertson and Lewis counties in Kentucky, and Brown and Adams counties of Ohio, as well as throughout central Kentucky. As a trained, professional draftsman employed by civil engineering firms, her work is often found associated with local civic projects, public works, and public and private design projects. The reproductions of her work offered on this site are not limited editions or personally signed or numbered.
