Description Post impressionist acrylic, oil and paper collage painting of Vincent Van Gogh's cell at St Remy. In the last year of his life Vincent had himself committed to an asylum and in just one year he created more than 200 artworks. I tried to imagine what that cell would have looked like with so many masterpieces on display however these are not Vincent's paintings they are mine and include self portraits.
Richard Tuvey, Cowra, New South Wales Member Since March 2011 Artist Statement Born in London , England in 1945, I travelled to Australia for a holiday in 1965 and have lived here ever since. Being in absolute awe of the Australian landscape I began painting post impressionist art as a means of pictorial communication , this began in 1970 and continues to this day as I haven't lost my love for this beautiful but harsh land. I have been fortunate to have gained a Diploma in Art, a BA in Fine Arts with Honours and a Masters Degree in the Visual arts. I am at present going through a digital art phase and I have particular interest in the Fauve art movement.
