Artist Statement Originally from New York City, Tish Barrens Murphy has lived on Cape Cod for over twenty years. Her lifelong love and exploration of art are combined with the desire to capture a moment with paint. Settings around Cape Cod, MA and Charleston, SC are often seen as the subject of Tish’s paintings. The close proximity to the sea of both of these locations offers a unique clarity of light that inspires her to explore the heightened use of color in her acrylic on canvas paintings.
