Description A lovely, and very primitive, cottage in the Haliburton Highlands. The vertical logs are unusual, I don't think I have seen another like it. It was only accessible by boat and had no electricity or plumbing. Despite this, my hostess still managed to add a little elegance with the waterlilly floating in the glass bowl next to the old fashioned jug and washbasin. This painting was worked up at home with the help of an on the spot watercolour sketch and a photograph.
