Artist Statement I am a third generation photographer. My grandfather took portraits in the back of his general store in the early 1900s with a 5x7in glass plate view camera. I still have this camera and have restored it to working order and still use it along with my other cameras. My father used this camera and others to take photographs for purposes including his own publications, having a small printing business.

My father built a darkroom in our house and before I was a teenager had taught me the techniques of developing and printing film. He gave me a love of photography that has lasted ever since, over 30 years. My primary interest has always been in nature and landscape photography, especially in the rough terrain of the mountains. From my beginnings in film I have moved into the digital world, having the advantage of a degree in Computer Science and years of experience with computer technology.

For the last 7 years I have lived in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, just west of Denver, CO. I am blessed to be surrounded by the beauty and majesty of this amazing country, and I truly love to capture it and share it in still images. I hope you enjoy browsing through the selection I've included on this site and that you find one or more images that you would like to display in your home or office.

In addition to my own interest in photography I have devoted myself to preserving the photographic treasures of my ancestors. It is a sad fact that, for all the excellent qualities of film, it has a limited shelf life and inevitably deteriorates with age. This has led to my research into scanning technology and purchase of high quality scanning equipment. I have scanned and restored many hundreds of my own family's photos so far and continue to do so. This experience has enabled me to offer my service to others who want to preserve their family's photographic heritage but don't want to invest in the equipment or don't have the time to devote to it. I take the same care with others' precious photographs as I do with my own family's.
