Artist Statement The first memory I have of loving to create art was when I was three years old and I asked my mother to show me how to draw people. I have loved to draw all my life and have taken the courses that Art Instruction School offered, but I had never painted anything. I never dreamed that I would love to paint as much as I do at this time. It all started when I decided I needed some kind of paintings on a couple of walls in my living room. I first decided I might try a mural but that was a little intimidating for someone who had never painted anything. So, I bought a couple of stretch canvases and some oil paints, and the rest is history. My family loved the two paintings so I continued to paint mostly folk art which I have loved for years. I have done calendars of my paintings that have done well, but I discovered that many products can be produced from my art. I hope you have a good time in this first series called, "New Hope."
