Graphite pencil and then Pastel chalk became my wands to produce the magic of art to create portraits and fictional art. I must admit it was a struggle for me to learn, but practice and determination became the vehicles that started me on a journey that enriched my life. After retiring from my regular job with the Chicago Water Reclamation District, I decided to work full time on creating art.
It wasn't until I decided to create Halloween art that my journey into the art world was about to change dramatically. My contact with another artist named John Pelico of Killer Pumpkins reviewed my artwork, gave me positive feedback, and then encouraged me to try digital art. I took his advice and found a brand new world to explore. Although it took me a lot of hard work to understand how to use it, the magic of digital art inspired my creative imagination so I could accomplish my best art using my past skills. I also created another website: www.newfantasticfantasy.com that displays some of my earlier works of art that include both mediums of pastel chalk and digital art.
Now that I am retired from the Chicago Water Reclamation District, I devote my full time to creating a variety of art subjects. Besides Halloween, my latest artwork entitled "Indian Forever" involves a unique way to connect the native American Indian ancestors to their modern descendants. I did a lot of research to understand the symbols and the spirituality of native American history and worked at including those in this landscape illustration.
My galleries will include native American Indian art, Halloween, and Creative Illustrated Art that will include a variety of contemporary art. Thank you for your attention, and I will be working to present you with new art surprises in the near future.
