Description Some birds flying above the sea at sunset.This was one of the first pictures I took with my dSLR. The beach always seemed like a good place to take nice pictures. My brother found a group of seagulls and started running among them. They all flew desperately, not knowing where to go. I grabbed my camera and did the shot.

Artist Statement My name is Diego Veríssimo and I currently live in Portugal. I was born in the other side of the Atlantic Ocean - in Brazil - but I came to Portugal when I was just 2 years old.
I got my first camera when I was 14 and I've been enjoying photography and taking photos since then. And my passion for photography still grows every single day.
As a photographer, I understand I still have a long way to go and I'm constantly pursuing perfection - although I know I'll never reach it. I understand that the day we stop chasing perfection, we also stop being creative and innovative. And I don't want to do that.
There's a lot of artists I like but only a few whose work I truly love and admire. Steve McCurry is one of my all-time favorite photographers as well as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Steve Bloom is one of my main influences on wildlife photography, just to name a few.
