Artist Statement While I do have a "day" job, I've always loved to take pictures. I spend a significant amount of time with my macro lens and flowers but I have recently been working with different subjects. A visit to London and Paris over Christmas and a move from Los Angeles to New York city in the dead of winter have had me working in black and white a lot more recently. My first trip out to the park after a snow the other day got me great light in the morning. The shadows created through the trees against the snow translated really well into black/white and you can bet I'm going to try that again before it gets too warm!

My sister has had me into visiting cemetaries as well lately. I find the statues absolutely amazing, especially some of the expressions and compositions. These almost always work better in black/white.

Hope you enjoy the additional variety as well as the new interesting scenery. Now that I'm in NYC, I'm sure I'll be out and posting updates often. I also still have many pieces still in the works from my recent travels.
