Artist Statement Joan started painting late in life, although creative activities were always a part of her life. In 1990 J. Harrison picked up a paintbrush, some watercolors and began expressing her fascination and love of flowers. Married, mother of three, with a set of twins, an IT professional she had so little time to devote to her love of painting. In 1990 Joan painted flowers, sold a few and gave away many – watercolor was her chosen media. In 2018 she decided to try Acrylics and literally fell in love with the media and painted dozens of paintings. Today she is using Acrylics to paint the subject she still loves best – flowers.
