Artist Statement After 50+ years doing portraits in sculpted clay, I retired with my husband to the mountains of Western North Carolina near Asheville. This wonderful climate creates an environment for beautiful flowers, and my husband is a Master Gardener and takes full advantage of the long growing season.

So I discovered painting! I enjoy painting the flowers around me in oils and in pastel chalks. We both love hiking on the many wilderness trails to discover flowers and waterfalls. Look for my paintings of some of the native wildflowers along with traditional garden flowers.

Together we have five kids (his and hers) who have given us fourteen grandkids! Some of them are budding painters as well!
