Artist Statement My life's work has kept me busy as biology teacher, but I always had a yearning to break away and fulfill my dream of expanding my tr love of painting. After 33 years of teaching, I am living my dream.

I find contentment in watercolor and try to reflect life's connectivity and continuity in my artwork. I have a love affair with portraiture and figure . I explore the play of light and shadow on facial expression. I prefer to paint confident, poised people at ease in their surroundings.

In non portrait works, I strive to give a fleeting glimpse of the subject allowing the flow of paint to dictate the composition.
