Description Our Mexican Winged God perches atop an orb in Puerto Vallartas gallery district. He has been photographed and tinted to capture both his mystery and wisdom and that magnificent wingspan. Make a statement by hanging him above your mod-baroque sofa.
Victoria Brenner, Atlanta, GA Member Since April 2008 Artist Statement Growing up amidst the natural beauty of rolling green hills, horse farms, and Revolutionary War era structures in Chester County Pennsylvania fueled my affinity for natural beauty and art from an early age. For those of you not familiar with the area, it’s part of “Wyeth Country” (yes, those Wyeths!) In high school, I was lucky enough to be selected to exhibit in a juried student show at the Brandywine River Museum - home of the famed Wyeth Family collection. At Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, I expanded my knowledge of color, composition and layout. Subsequently, I have worked professionally as a graphic artist, web designer, and photographer throughout the years all while aspiring to achieve artistic growth that can only come through time, experience, and exposure.
These days, I’m very much focused on photography. For the past few years I have been exploring Southern towns like Charleston, South Carolina; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Rome and Atlanta, Georgia, as well as the vineyards of Napa Valley, California; Mexico’s Pacific coast, and the wonder that is Brazil –through the lens of my camera. Don’t we all see things differently and think about them just a little bit longer when we’re composing a shot?
Some of my favorite subjects are architecture, flowers, animals, and statuary. I favor “captures” over studio shoots since it means I’m outside exploring! So next time that horse on the horizon wanders across his field so that the sun sets right behind him, here’s hoping I’m there climbing up on top of my truck to get the shot! Thanks for looking! Cheers! ~ Vicki
