Artist Statement I am a native of Green Bay, WI. At a young age I took several art classes and was particularly inspired when I joined a group of older artists who got together weekly to paint in watercolor. I learned about nature in terms of color and light, form, texture and movement. In college I set aside my painting and set my sights on a career in Industrial Design and graduated with a Bachelors in Industrial Design and a Masters in Environmental Design. As a designer, I worked for a major furniture manufacturer and an architect, designing furniture and cabinetry for medical clinics and schools.

Eventually, I moved back to Green Bay to help in the family sporting goods business and it wasn’t long and I bought into the business and spent the next 25 years in retail sporting goods. I kept my hand in art and design by doing the advertising for the company along with assuming many other responsibilities of running a business.

Today, I spend much of my time photographing nature and pursuing my passion to paint. My preferred method of painting has moved away from traditional watercolors and acrylics to digital painting and photo editing. I love to spend time with my camera in the woods, on the water or visiting wildlife sanctuaries. Many of my paintings reflect scenes of places I frequent and have visited in North America.
