Description This was my first real large-scale painting. The dimensions are 84' x 60'. It has influences of Klimt's The Kiss, and Hokusai's The Wave. As the giant wave seems to be covering a man, in one hand he is holding the Planet Earth, and the other hand is stretched out towards his lover. She is sheathed by the fabric of time. Behind her is the Moon and the night sky. Space, perhaps. Centering the two is a giant golden disk that represents the wheel in the sky that is in charge of the whole grand thing. This is the perfect painting to look at before you shut your eyes for sleep
Amanda Moreno, Austin Member Since July 2011 Artist Statement I'm a bartender in a 5 star hotel. Though I love tending bar, I'm not very fulfilled by my current job situation. I don't care for some of the pretentious people that I have to serve drinks to. Which is why I'm choosing to further my education and promote my artwork. I have a BFA from Texas State University and am currently studying animation at the Art Institute of Austin. In time I will become a successful artist.
