Description This is painting that expresses my view of life without love or being able to give love. The surrounding of life would be pale and dead in color desolate with no water to refresh or give life. The hands pull back the curtain of the soul where the heart is absent. Only eternal darkness remains. No matter what people do or say if it is done without great love it means nothing.
Jerry Price, Colorado Springs Member Since January 2013 Artist Statement I consider myself an experimental artist as well as a conceptualist. I love working in mediums where I’m not sure what will be the outcome and may natural happen, which gives me the surface I can then go into with my paint. I do not like talking much about my work because it is personal and I would rather hear from the viewer of their interpretation or what they see or feel about my work.
I like to experiment with all types of mediums even if all my pieces have a different look or style. If I like it or want to try something new I do it for me, not for the art critics.
I grew up in Dallas Texas and have been doing art since I was a small child. I became a graphic designer after graduating from Texas A&M. You can see how that has influenced some of my work. I never stopped doing art and weather it was realism, abstract or conceptual. The images I produce are very personal to me and nearly always have something for the viewer to discover that may not be seen at first glance. Some of my conceptual work is autobiographical and I do not share what those pieces mean to me but would rather see how the viewer interprets what I have done.
