Artist Statement Robert Festa has always had an interest in taking photographs, especially those that capture objects and places in an abstract setting. Robert has been featured in Apartment Therapy, a national web blog with readership of 2.5 million viewers per month. [www.apartmenttherapy.com] His photo “glimpse" was also featured as a selected entry in the 2008 National Geographic International Photography Contest and his photo “sprite” can be seen in the Nat Geo Green Guide Infinite Photograph – As Seen on Earth [www.thegreenguide.com/infinite-photograph]. His work has been exhibited in several venues in Jamaica Plain and Boston at large.

Robert grew up in New Haven Connecticut, surrounded by world-class architecture and amazing photographic inspiration. He lives in Jamaica Plain, a neighborhood of Boston, with his golden retriever Penny. He is a Boston area architect and has worked with several nationally recognized architectural firms, most recently, Elkus Manfredi Architects. Robert is a Jamaica Plain Open Studios artist, an active member of the Footlight Club [America’s oldest community theater], and a member of JP Centre/South Main Streets Design Committee. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1991.

Robert shoots his photographs with a Nikon d70s digital slr camera and processes them with Apple Aperture and Adobe Photoshop.
