Artist Statement Robin Martindale
Professor, Department of Art, Appalachian State University since 1987.

She received a B.C.A. in sculpture from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte and an M.F.A. from UNC-Chapel Hill. Art making for Robin is a meditative process. Visual art to her is a way of communicating that is as visceral as music but much more subtle. With her work, Robin is interested in expanding visual awareness. She was trained as a sculptor but has taught graphic design, illustration, History of Graphic Design, product and chair design, drawing as well as many levels of sculpture.
