Description Her we have the American Mink (Neovison vison). The American mink was brought to the UK in the late 1920s to breed for the fur trade. Some escaped and did what Mink do, and they are now found around almost all the UK Often mistaken for otters but much smaller, they are indiscriminate killers of native wildlife and had a particularly devastating effect on our Water vole population (accessing their bankside burrows), so pretty unpopular, but I do think they do look irresistibly cute, don't you agree?!
James Bennett (Mr Bennett Kent), Sissinghurst, Kent, England Member Since July 2014 Artist Statement Fine Art Wildlife and Bird photography from the UK and my travels to America and Australia.
Macro and Extreme Macro photography of insects and plants are also represented, showing the fascinating and strangely beautiful world normally invisible to the naked eye.
