Artist Statement JBC is a combination photography venture we created to further what started as a hobby. We both got into taking pictures seriously about five years ago. Both of us had played at it for years, and by pooling resources we could provide a more unique overview of our subjects while increasing the quality of the equipment we use. We share equipment, and we don’t keep track of who shoots what, so don’t ask!

We both love landscapes and natural photography, as well as shots showing life and movement. We have a bit of an architectural photography bent, too. You never know what odd item or view will come out as a powerful statement through the lens. Mostly we go for pictures of things and places that people recognize, but don’t really LOOK at. Different angles, depths of field, and silhouettes can all pull people in to look more closely at the world they are walking through. We have driven cross country to several areas, and are constantly visiting more.

Anything can make a powerful image if you can capture it correctly with the camera.

After talking about selling our items for years, in 2008 we finally got around to doing something about it. We started having prints made, framing them, and talking to some people about shows. We are currently looking forward to some upcoming showings in the Kansas City area, including an award winning piece being shown at Union Station July 26 - August 2.

We are adding to our website all the time, including new products made from our photos. Visit our sales links for a variety of items made from our images, or contact us if there is something you want but don’t see.
