Description I wanted to focus on the Women's Suffrage movement and the 19th Amendment and compare it to where women have come to today. I questioned how can any series on women not include their socio-political struggles to make a better life for themselves and future generations? The panel highlights existence of womens humanness. The intent was to examine the logic of how we were viewed in the male dominated society. For example, women were not permitted to think for themselvesalthough they endured the hardships of birthing children without modern medication, were expected to rear those children, and maintain a household, still they were thought to be psychologically and emotionally inferior to men. This begged the question of whether or not we were even considered to be human.
