I was born and spent my childhood in a very small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Throughout the years, I've traveled extensively and lived in many cities, but am always called back home to the U.P.
My work has been exhibited in my native Upper Peninsula, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Los Angeles, California.
My primary inspirations are folklore, fairytale and mythology. I like to combine traditional and experimental techniques on various surfaces, juxtaposed with elements from both Eastern and Western animation. Simple complexity results.

Many artists and visionaries influence me, but my favourites are Walt Disney (with whom I share a birthday), Hayao Miyazaki, Alphonse Mucha, Tamara deLempicka, and Audrey Kawasaki. My work is a fusion of the many things that are enchanting or curious to me, but it all revolves around the singular hub of life and death.
When I'm not drawing or painting, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, hiking, chocolate, science fiction, comic books, ancient and alternative history, quantum physics, botany, mysticism and alchemy.
