Description Strangler fig in the Daintree area of Australia. This beautiful result begins as a vine that grows around an existing tree for support. It eventualy chokes the other tree. The aborigines used large strangler figs as tombs.
Nancy Young, Volcan, Panama Member Since April 2008 Artist Statement I have lived in various parts of the US throughout my life. I have always had an interest in nature and art. I have found an outlet for this love in painting and photography.
When my husband and I have retired to the gorgeous mountains of Panama I decided I would use the opportunity to create images of the beauty around us. Impressed with the beauty of the birds and frogs I found here they quickly became the subjects of my painting.
