Description Live life like a tree that grows perfectly originally, totally oblivious to the idea of an ideal tree. One of my favorite quotes, it jumped out at me from a magazine article and I regret that I do not know the author. It applies to many aspects of life, love, faith, and friendship.
Sarah Geesey, San Antonio Member Since September 2009 Artist Statement I believe we were all born to create in our own ways - to co-create with our creator - to “let it out”, as I heard a friend say recently. My artistic journey started early in life; family and friends have always encouraged my creative sense and eye for beauty and symbolic meaning, and have prodded me toward sharing my work.
Having traveled the world, I have seen many inspiring, mind-bending, and spirit-changing things. Every day is filled with colors, shapes, light...little pleasures that bring me to ponder and want to share them some way. I have to say, though, that I find the most beauty and wonder in...people...deep down inside where we live. Quirky imperfections that only show in true authenticity are what I really cherish.
Art classes at Bethel College, MN (in the 90’s) gave me some formal training, and since then I’ve been exploring my own style. I’ve been working consistently since 2003, creating original paintings both for expressions’ sake, and for a variety of private collectors.
I have been married for 17 years to the man I love and we have three sons.
