Description Salem Chapel, British Methodist Episcopal Church was once a headquarters for the Underground Railroad, the network that guided slaves from the United States to freedom in Canada. It was Harriet Tubman's church. It sits on a shabby run-down section of Geneva Street in St. Catharines right across the street from the Golden Brothers Sports Bar.
Sarah Lynch, St. Catharines, Ontario Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement
Born in Germany to an English mother and a Canadian father, I have lived in various places on both sides of the Atlantic, currently in Southern Ontario. My family are musicians and I work in the theatre, I am surrounded by talent.
I paint because I must but my style, such as it is, is still evolving. I don\'t have a message, at least not one that can be explained in words. If I have something to say I will write about it. When I paint I use a different language, one that doesn't translate.
