Description On Lummi Island they practice a form of salmon fishing known as reefnetting. There are only about 7 reefnet 'gears' left in the world. To catch the salmon the fishermen must stand on towers with polarized sunglasses and actually see the salmon coming into the net. Then they bring up the net and hand haul the fish into the boat. It's a very strenuous way to make a living.
